“July 15th is my best friends birthday. We’d always try to do something special together, but three years ago was extra special. My best friends and I got to spend her birthday in Koh Samui, Thailand. It was the first time that we were traveling together and we got to enjoy her birthday in a foreign city. It was also her sister’s wedding, so there was a lot going on! When we got time away from the wedding festivities, we relaxed by the beach and jet skied across the beautiful water. My favorite part was being on the beach at night and lighting lanterns that we released into the sky. It was just like in the movie, “Tangled.” Just standing there, with my best friends by my side, watching the orange rise against the dark sky made it perfect. I urge all of you to travel and explore a different city/country at least once with your friends! Don’t be afraid to try something new, who knows, maybe you’ll have to write a blog-post about it in the future…” – Areeba Qazi
Bio: I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. I came to the US for my undergrad at Emory University. I graduated in May 2014 with a degree in Biology and Theater Studies. I am currently working as a Residence Hall Director at Emory University. I enjoy traveling, acting and dance. I also love the color purple, and you will probably never see me without at least one thing of that color. I hope to go onto Medical School, become a physician, and eventually find a way to connect both my interests.

That is so sweet!
